Is Kinetic Shockwave Cleaning Safe?

The kinetic shockwave is created using Det-cord, NOT dynamite. Det-cord is a flexible linear explosive with a core of PETN explosive encased in a textile outer jacket. The cord itself is inert and cap sensitive, which means the cord can only be detonated after a blasting cap has been attached.

Additional factors that make Kinetic Shockwave Cleaning safe:

  • No Det-cord comes in direct contact with any plant equipment.
  • Minimized exposure of personnel to airborne particulate.
  • Other contractor work can be performed while the Det-cord curtains are installed inside the HRSG.
  • Det-cord installed and initiated by trained & licensed professionals.
